The much talked about Amazon Fire phone has failed to compete with other mobile companies in the market. The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Amazon had laid off a number of engineers from their Silicon Valley company, Lab-127, especially the engineers who were involved with the phone.
Lab-126 started working with Kindle e-reader in 2004. A few days ago, several new devices were marketed. The main goal of the division was to increase sales at Amazon.
But now Amazon has removed their target from such devices. Experts believe it was Amazon's strategy to get people's attention. In September 2014, it was revealed that Amazon is hiring new engineers who are going to bring a new phone to the market that will make people happy.
Now, The Wall Street Journal reports, they are moving away from the decision that Lab-127 focused on building a giant tablet and smartphone project. Amazon's new product Kindle Paperweight and Echo have been very popular in the market but the Fire Phone flops.
Despite all this, Amazon has kept up their business growth. A few days ago, Amazon released a net income of 92 million. This enabled them to overtake another competitor, Walmart.
It is now thought that the Fire Phone will be officially announced but some of Amazon's new devices will come to market that will be able to impress buyers.
